EMERGING TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE (ETI) PROVIDES CIS ACADEMY STUDENTS SUMMER OPPORTUNITY IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND DIGITAL SKILLS LEARNING
June 3 - July 3
In today’s world, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing the skills required to succeed in school and the workforce. Teaching digital skills supports the student’s ability to succeed and compete in an information-rich environment. Emerging Technology Institute, located in Red Springs, NC, and at the Thomas Entrepreneur Center in Pembroke, NC is providing a Summer Camp opportunity to the students at CIS Academy in Pembroke during the month of July. The focus of the camp will be on Artificial Intelligence and Digital Skills Learning.
Activities will include 3D Printing, Game Design, Robotics, Coding, Basic Web Development, Basic AI Systems, Virtual Escape Rooms Design, and AI creations.
James Freeman, founder and president of ETI states, “This camp gives students an opportunity to be hands on and to expand their knowledge on different technologies right now, rather than later in life. The students will be around like-minded people who are excited and eager to learn more about the technology. This opportunity ultimately gives the students a chance to be themselves and to learn new and valuable skills in the technological world”.
Dr. Stedman, Executive Director of Communities in Schools said, “CIS is very grateful for this partnership with ETI and the learning outcomes from the camp fully align with the mission to teach students to be successful in an ever-changing world by introducing them to digital skills for the 21st century schools and job market”.
The camp will be from July 8 through August 1 at CIS Academy in Pembroke and the ETI’s X8 LAB at UNCP Business Hub at 202 Main St. in Pembroke. The camp is open to current CIS Academy students and rising 6th-grade students who will be attending CIS Academy when school begins in August. There is an enrollment capacity of 30 students.
